PAX Infinitum
Interplanetary Conflict Resolution

History
Pax Infinitum's illustrious record begins in 2114, following the botched contact between a Terran mining vehicle and a Gesticular scout ship in Jovian orbit.
Though certain human governments had been conducting covert diplomacy with the Gesticular government, most of the inhabitants of Earth were not aware of the existence of other intelligent lifeforms. Similarly, few Gesticular citizens knew of the existence of humans. Inhabiting a nearby Dyson-system, which was not discovered until technological advancements made in 2087, the Gesticulars were kept secret by Terran leaders until their potential threat to humanity could be assessed. Therefore, when the Gesticular scout ship, in a state of distress, advanced upon the Terran mining vehicle, the miners had no knowledge of the Gesticulars' existence. The Terrans mistakenly took the contact as hostile.
The situation escalated when the Gesticulars docked with and boarded the Terran vessel. Largely tentacular, neither biped nor quadruped, but cephaloped, the Gesticulars appeared menacing to the humans. The human crew reacted with horror and immediately radio-ed for assistance from a local Orbital Marine vessel. The Gesticulars, mutually terrified by the appearance of the human crew (apparently humans resemble a poisonous subprimate species on the Gesticular homeworld), opened fire upon the wild humans, killing the entire crew. When the Marines finally arrived, the Gesticulars themselves were
also killed.
To avoid any such future cultural misunderstandings, the international law firm Fatou Mulligan Rodriguez & Schwarz merged with the private military company Still River, and Pax Infinitum was born. In a few short decades, PI opened its first off-planet branch on Earth's moon, then soon after opened another branch on Mars.
